A seasonal speciality single origin coffee sourced from the Lamari River Valley in Papua New Guinea’s Eastern Highlands. Grown at altitudes of 1,700 - 2,000 meters above sea level in the southwest Pacific, this unique coffee combines heritage Arabica varieties like Arusha, Blue Mountain, Bourbon, and Typica, meticulously cultivated and washed by a trusted community of farmers to achieve this sustainable speciality cup profile. With a cup score of 84, Lamari’s sensory journey offers rich flavours of milk chocolate, bourbon biscuits, and citrus fruits with hints of pomegranate, complementing an enveloping, creamy full-bodied character, followed by a sweet nougat aftertaste and a subtle hazelnut aroma. Papua New Guinea is a relative newcomer to the speciality coffee scene, where 85% of total coffee produced in the country typically comes from collectives with farmers growing coffee on small plots of land intercropped with other crops. Most land where coffee is grown in Papua New Guinea can more aptly be described as “coffee gardens” as opposed to coffee farms.
