Founded in 2008 by 18 women living with HIV, the Ituze Women’s Cooperative was created to provide support, stability, and economic opportunity. “Ituze” means “calmness” in Kinyarwanda; reflecting their vision.
Through coffee and pineapple farming, they built a thriving business, later expanding into soap-making to generate additional income. Today, with over 20 members, they continue to reinvest in their community and improve their livelihoods.
The women handpick ripe coffee cherries, which are carefully processed at the Ngamba Washing Station. The cherries are pulped, fermented, washed, and dried for up to 30 days, ensuring a high quality cup.
Coffee is central to Rwanda’s economic growth, with smallholder farmers like the Ituze Women’s Cooperative driving the country’s speciality coffee industry. Your purchase directly supports these women, their families, and sustainable farming in Rwanda.
